Video Capture Technology Helps Dental Students Recognize Strengths and Weaknesses

The Objective Structured Clinical Exam (OSCE) is a common assessment tool throughout the healthcare professions measuring how well medical students perform in a wide range of practitioner-patient interactions. The UIC College of Dentistry uses EchoVideo’s Universal Capture capabilities to record each student’s performance, allowing them to identify what they did well and where they could improve. Furthermore, exam administrators watch the recordings for the evidence they need of each student’s performance.

Cameras are set up in the treatment room during the OSCE, allowing all stakeholders to watch each student interact with standardized patients and monitor their performance.
