WILLIAM ANGLISS INSTITUTE CASE STUDY: Bringing hands-on teaching to life

Not every college in Australia gives you the chance to learn to cook via demonstrations by world-known and industry-current chefs, or the opportunity to try out what you’ve learnt in restaurants open to the public. But then, as Australia’s largest specialist centre for food science, tourism, hospitality and events training, William Angliss Institute is a college unlike any other.

With state of the art facilities, it covers every type of training, from half day courses and apprenticeships to Bachelor and Master degrees, to allow its 7000 Melbourne-based students to follow their passion. The college also trains the same number again internationally, with campuses in Sydney and Singapore, and partnerships in China, Sri Lanka and Bangkok.

This international presence was one of the reasons the institute turned to Echo360 – to capture some of the standout practical techniques that are demonstrated, especially when it comes to cookery, and share them with students around the world.
