Rick Olsen uses PointSolutions polling capabilities in his communication studies classroom to drive student participation through low-stakes quizzing and formative assessments. If the class is divided on a question, the poll is used to jumpstart stimulating discussion. UNCW also uses PointSolutions to quickly take attendance, allowing instructors to intervene if a pattern of absences becomes apparent.
PointSolutions provides multiple data points for every student even in large UNCW classes, helping instructors identify concerns and refer students to appropriate resources, no matter what size the class is.
