Connecting Students Worldwide

When the COVID-19 pandemic forced its campus to close, Bishop Garcia Diego HS needed to find a solution to deliver classes remotely to students all over the world. Bishop Garcia Diego High School administrators chose EchoVideo as the best way to deliver high-quality education to all students, no matter where (or when) they access their classes. The EchoVideo experience goes far beyond passively watching fixed-frame, traditional video — it offers so many ways for students to connect, whether that’s through interacting with classmates during live-streamed classes or responding to posts on a discussion board about an asynchronous individual assignment. Plus, anyone can go back to revisit tricky concepts at any time, as EchoVideo courses are recorded and hosted online for future reference.

Echo360's e3 Formula in Action

Bishop Garcia Diego HS leveraged EchoVideo’s integration with Zoom to deliver a complete, interactive, and accessible educational experience to all students.

Both international and domestic students can access lecture recordings on demand. And EchoVideo makes teaching equitable too — all of the Echo360 recordings are available in the LMS, so it makes it easier for substitute teachers to come in and facilitate instruction.

Teachers can talk to students directly using Zoom and they usually end the class on Zoom where they can answer questions and give assignments, just as they would in a normal class. But everything gets recorded in Echo360 and it is available for students later, fostering independent engagement with the material.

Although Bishop Garcia Diego HS has only been using Echo360 for a short period of time, Yokubaitis says they have achieved their initial goal of being able to reach international students. “We have achieved our goal of creating an engaging environment that allows us to take care of students.”

3 Key Takeaways

EchoVideo’s Integrations Make Remote Education Easy for Teachers

Every teacher at Bishop Garcia Diego High School records their classes and live streams them to students online using Echo360. With Echo360’s Zoom integration, teachers can use the video conferencing tool to converse and speak directly to students and establish that all-important personal, one-to-one connection.

Education On Demand

Videos recorded with Echo360 now give Bishop Garcia Diego HS the ability to reach its cohort of international students no matter where they are in the world. Once a class is recorded, it takes just seconds for that recording to be uploaded from Echo360 to Canvas, the school’s learning management system (LMS). This is one of the features teachers appreciate the most — recordings are almost immediately available.

Unparalleled Simplicity

The beauty of the Echosystem is that teachers are able to just do their thing. Everything a teacher says and does is captured by the video webcam and microphone and recorded in Echo360, allowing all students access to the same educational content no matter where they are.
