AI Principles
At Echo360, our commitment to responsible innovation is guided by our Echosystem AI Principles — ensuring AI is fair, transparent, responsible, private, and reliable — and our commitment to protecting your rights in relation to automated processing.
1. Fairness
Our AI systems are designed to be inclusive and non‑discriminatory. We proactively reduce bias by integrating diverse datasets, continuous evaluation, and inclusive design practices.
2. Transparency
Whenever AI is used — such as automated transcription, topic detection, or content suggestions — we clearly label these features and provide explanations for how they operate and how to interpret their outputs.
3. Responsibility
Echo360 maintains oversight over all AI systems. We establish clear roles across the organization to achieve responsible development and deployment.
4. Privacy & Security
We safeguard personal and institutional data through encryption and continuous security monitoring. AI features operate within secure environments, and no user data is used to train or refine our models unless the customer explicitly opts in.
5. Reliability
Our AI is built to operate dependably within its intended scope. Outputs may occasionally contain errors due to audio quality, transcription limitations, or language complexity. Users are encouraged to review all AI-generated results for accuracy before application.
6. Humans in Control
All AI features are opt‑in by design. This ensures institutions, instructors, and administrators maintain full decision‑making authority over whether AI is enabled and used within workflows.
7. Value Alignment
Echo360 creates AI systems aligned with the educational values of our customers —focusing on enhancing learning, efficiency, and accessibility while upholding academic integrity and user dignity.
Governance and Continuous Improvement
Our Trustworthy AI Program is overseen by a cross‑functional internal working group, led by Echo360’s compliance and AI ethics leadership. This program is aligned with international standards (NIST AI RMF, EU AI Act, OECD) and includes:
- Employee training on ethical AI use
- Inventory tracking of AI features in development
- Ongoing policy reviews and user feedback integration
How This Impacts You
- You can easily enable or disable AI features via admin controls.
- All AI‑generated outputs—such as transcripts, chapters, flashcards, or quizzes —are identified and should be reviewed before use.
- No Echo360 user or institutional content is used for model training unless you explicitly authorize this via a separate agreement.
- In the rare event outputs are incorrect or biased, we offer support and mitigation processes, including reprocessing or feature review.
Your Role as a Customer
- You are empowered to adopt AI on your own terms. We encourage customers to:
- Review our principles and share them with your users and staff.
- Use AI thoughtfully, especially in academic or high-stakes environments.
- Report any concerns or feedback about output accuracy, bias, or usability via support channels.
