ABOUT PUBLIC INPUT SESSIONS

Join an interactive session enabled by EchoPoll to collect students’ and the public’s considerations, intentions, ideas, needs, or anything they want to communicate about Echo360’s initial considerations for the EchoEco Research Award Program. Learn about these initial considerations from one of the folks who helped draft them, Ben Velani, Echo360 ESG Impact Manager, and answer 10 short-response and ranking questions to provide targeted and open-ended feedback. These questions will guide your thinking about what focus areas within our initial award scope are most important to participants. What kinds of work do you what to see this program support? What kinds of work are you currently doing as an undergraduate that could benefit from a cash award of up to $1,250 USD?

Don’t have the bandwidth to participate live? — take 30 seconds to provide your feedback asynchronously with this EchoPoll.

ABOUT BEN VELANI, ECHO360 ESG IMPACT MANAGER

Ben Velani is from Minneapolis and graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University ’22, majoring in Religious Studies and Government. Through the Humanities Scholar Program, he spent two years researching how to minimize light pollution’s disruption of the rhythms and ecology of the natural world and human experiences with a dark night sky.

After graduating from Cornell, Ben was invited to join a national cohort of Lead for America fellows. In 2023, he spent over 1700 hours serving West Central Initiative (WCI), a regional development organization and community foundation in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, as a Climate Fellow. Primary among a number of projects, he traveled around the nine counties that WCI serves to interview the people whose daily work it is to make the region more sustainable and resilient. Each month, he published their stories in WCI’s monthly Climate Action Newsletter.

At Echo360, Ben works with senior management to evaluate and communicate the company’s community and environmental impacts, as well as seek out, create, or act on new opportunities to grow Echo360’s already robust responsible business practices
