Honoring Our Veterans through Education
November 11 is Veterans Day. This date was originally set as a U.S. holiday to honor the end of World War I. But today, Veterans Day is the day on which America honors all service members who have worn one of our Nation’s uniforms.
Although the involvement of US troops in Iraq and Afghanistan has been winding down, the work of these brave men and women continues. As many of our veterans return to civilian life, we are also reminded that our obligation to them goes much farther than a ceremony or a parade. We need to ensure that their ingenuity and leadership skills be used to drive our Nation’s economic engine. We also need to ensure that they have access to quality higher education, for it is through training and education that they will be able to serve their communities and our nation’s workforce.
At Echo360 we are committed to providing educational opportunities for our veterans. As part of our philanthropic efforts, Echo360 supports the Warrior to Cyber Warrior Program. This program helps train veterans in the ermerging field of cyber-security.
Echo360 is also very proud to support the efforts of institutions such as the University of Toledo and others which help both active duty and veteran personnel earn degrees through online and distance learning programs. Education will help veterans enjoy the fruits of our American life that they have fought so hard to preserve. It is one important way for us to honor America’s veterans who have served with distinction under demanding circumstances and in some of the most dangerous corners of the earth.
To all who have served, we thank you.
