Visitors at EDUCAUSE will get a sneak preview of a new video capture application that we are calling Echo360 Universal Capture. This application has a Mac and Windows version that looks and works the same on each operating system. It can be used for both personal screen recording (screencasting) and can be installed on classroom Macs, PCs, where recordings can be automatically scheduled. The app can also be installed on instructor laptops where captures can be started with a single click.

We are the only video capture vendor that supports enterprise-class automated capture scheduling on the Mac, so you do not want to miss this sneak preview!

We’ve continued to make major updates to our mobile application (for iOS, Android, and Windows devices). Our latest release includes features such as Interactive Q&A, which facilitates peer-to-peer learning and discussion, Closed-Captioning, which helps institutions meet the needs of students with disabilities, Secure-Offline Viewing, which lets students download encrypted copies of their classroom video for later, offline viewing, and Background Mode, which allows students to listen to the audio-only portion of classroom presentations and lectures.
