Schedule

For venue-based recordings, institutions can establish semester-long schedules based on date, time, classroom and instructor. Schedules can also be driven by EchoSystem scheduling APIs.

Manual Operation

For ad-hoc events, faculty can start, stop and pause captures through an easy-to-use web interface or a room control system.

Capture

The EchoSystem captures audio and video sources along with course visuals from document cameras, Sympodiums and more. Captures start and stop automatically on either the EchoSystem capture appliance or podium computers.

Monitor

With a modern web-based interface to track lecture capture operations across campus, Echo360 proactively alerts administrators of capture success or potential problems.

Package

Echo360 automatically transforms recorded AAC course audio and H.264 video and VGA sources into ready-to-play rich media and podcasts. At the same time, Echo360 preserves the standards-based formats for future editing or re-purposing.

Promote and Protect

Secure content and promote institutional brand within the EchoSystem player. Automatically add video intros, watermarks, logos, even copyright information to recordings as needed.

Index / Search

Using the EchoSystem’s cloud-based indexing feature, institutions have the option to identify and insert keywords to recorded presentations. The keywords are returned from the EchoSystem service, applied and automatically published for students’ search.

Edit

Built-in, simple editing capability allows instructors and staff to customize presentations by cutting out unneeded sections of the recordings to create learning modules and tutorials.

Caption

Institutions can opt to automate the application of Section 508 compliant closed captions with the EchoSystem. By speeding turnaround time and reducing manual transcription costs, Echo360 provides a more accessible learning environment for all students.

Publish

Links to lecture recordings are automatically delivered to popular systems like Blackboard®, Moodle, ANGEL, and iTunes U out of the box. Using the EchoSystem publishing SDK, institutions can also publish lecture recordings to any custom portal or website.

Learn

On demand, day or night, students can review their lectures or other course materials on their own time, at their own pace. Because the EchoSystem uses the ubiquitous Flash codec, rich media Echoes are viewable on virtually every computer browser. For mobile devices, Echo360 supports both audio and video podcasts.

Customize

The EchoSystem includes three types of APIs for device control, scheduling and publishing. Universities can use these APIs to develop and integrate the EchoSystem into existing technologies for an operationally efficient lecture capture workflow.
